About this Edition

In 1895 the Kelmscott Press published 308 copies of the Anglo-Saxon epic poem, Beowulf. This edition is not a facsimile of this translated version by Morris and Wyatt, it is an homage.
With 18 new illustrations by Alice Cao this edition will be printed by Nomad Letterpress. Two bindings will be available; 300 Morris Editions and 8 Octad Editions (vellum) beautifully hand-bound at Ludlow Bookbinders.
The text will be presented with the Morris Troy font, a font Morris created for his edition, adding character and distinction to the pages. Flourishes designed by Morris will enhance this theme.
The Morris Edition will be quarter bound in gold embossed Teal Goat Leather with boards covered in the Morris Peacock & Dragon cloth design. The edges gilded to three sides with head and tail bands and housed in a slipcase with goat leather head and tail.

The Octad Edition will be bound in full Vellum and housed in an enhanced leather solander box. This will include a folio of the 18 letterpress illustrations and a letterpress plate used to print one of these illustrations.

Both editions will be printed on fine archival paper (tbc)
