The Original Art Work of Cecil Charles Windsor Aldin.
Cecil Charles Windsor Aldin (1870 – 1935) was born in Slough. He studied at Eastbourne College and Solihull Grammar School. He went on to study animal painting with Frank Calderon which set him on his career as an illustrator of animals especial dogs and horses. John Hassall and Phil May were his friends and influenced his work while he lived in London. Besides illustrating a great many books, he also completed a number of advertising projects for Bovril, Colman’s Mustard and Cadbury’s. Royal Doulton used his drawings as designs on around sixty items.
He is recognised as one of the greatest illustrators of Dogs and Sporting art.
His first illustration were published in 1891 for the Graphic.
